"For outstanding energy, zeal and devotion to duty, during the period form May to December 1944. This Officer, the Chief Engineer of HMCS Chaudiere, kept his Engineroom Department operating most efficiently, under exceedingly trying conditions, during operations in the Channel, the Bay of Biscay, and in waters around Iceland, at which time successful attacks were carried out on two U-Boats. At all time, Lieutenant-Commander Webb has displayed cheerfulness and resourcefulness."
