"During the two World Wars, Father Wood has devoted himself to the spiritual welfare of members of the Armed Forces. He has demonstrated administrative ability of the highest order and by his own example has set a precedent of friendly council and guidance to junior Chaplains, with the best interests of the Service at heart. He has the respect and admiration of all, junior and senior, with whom he comes in contact."
