"At the time of the sinking of HMCS Trentonian, this Officer's conduct was of the highest order. He remained cool as he organized the men when the order to 'Abandon Ship' was given. Later, from the ship's whaler, Lieutenant Kinsman picked up survivors and saw to it that the injured where placed aboard one of His Majesty's Canadian M.L.'s which was in the vicinity."
