"For distinguished service before the enemy. Lieutenant Easton was the Commanding Officer of HMCS Sackville (Corvette) when a U-boat was sighted on the surface. He immediately shaped course to ram and through skilful handling of his ship and devotion to duty, contributed to the almost certain destruction of one enemy U-boat and probable damaging of another."
